Florida Mercedes-Benz deal turns fishy. So buyers grab their guns and kidnap the seller

A car deal goes south, down south in Florida.

What began as a used-car purchase in Pompano Beach, Florida, escalated into a violent crime case as a father and son stand accused of kidnapping and armed robbery following a dispute over a 2021 white Mercedes-Benz S500. It’s a cast of characters and a sequence of events that sound straight from a movie. Thankfully, nobody got hurt.

According to police, Brandon Garcia, 23, purchased the Mercedes-Benz on November 26, 2025, for $37,000 cash, through a car salesman known as “Mane,” also referred to as “Weezy.” Two days later, Garcia received a text — allegedly mistakenly sent by one of the victims, an associate who worked for Weezy — stating he intended to give Garcia a temporary tag, a potential sign of fraud or illegitimate ownership.

Suspicious of the message, Garcia and his father, Oscar Garcia Berrios, 50, arranged to meet Weezy’s associate at a shop in Pompano Beach to finalize the title transfer, or so the victim — who has not so far been identified in the press — thought.

Title transfer, armed and dangerous

According to a Florida news outlet, WPLG, when the victim, or Weezy’s associate handling the title transfer, arrived at the shop — which was closed — he found Oscar and Brandon Garcia waiting outside, along with a third man and a pickup truck. After going inside, the Garcias demanded that Weezy’s associate transfer the title and issue a permanent tag on demand. Weezy was not there at the time.

When the victim refused, citing regulatory requirements, the situation turned violent. Brandon allegedly brandished an AR-15–style rifle, while Oscar held a pistol at his side.

Police say the Garcias disarmed Weezy’s associate, seized his concealed weapon, and ordered him to call Weezy, demanding a refund. During the confrontation, Weezy’s associate texted his girlfriend for help. When the woman arrived at the scene, she too was forced inside and held at gunpoint along with the male victim.

The Garcias forced both victims into the woman’s vehicle and coerced them to drive to a spot where they had arranged to meet Weezy. Meanwhile, a third man and the pickup — believed to be working with the Garcias — followed.

But at some point, that accomplice fled, leaving the victims and the Garcias alone. Along the way, Weezy’s associate managed to secretly text their location to family members, who then called the police.

The gas station meeting

Eventually, the group arrived at the nearby gas station where they’d agreed to meet Weezy. Police, having received the distress call, closed in. Deputies found the victims and suspects inside the vehicle, along with both firearms and property stolen from the victims. Both Oscar and Brandon Garcia were arrested without incident. They now face multiple felony charges, including kidnapping, armed robbery, and aggravated assault with intent to commit a felony.

After their arrest, authorities booked them into Broward Main Jail, where they remain without bond. Authorities have yet to name the third suspect — the man who accompanied the Garcias — who reportedly fled before deputies arrived.
