Florida millionaire allegedly forced a bestselling author into ‘cuckolding fantasy’ and ignored her pleas. Now she refuses to stay anonymous

The lawsuit mentions a cycle of graphic and severe abuse.

Australian bestselling author Hacia Atherton has sued millionaire Paul Vitale and made allegations of systematic abuse and exploitation. The case, filed in a Florida federal court on June 22, details a relationship that allegedly transformed from a glamorous long-distance romance into one of control and degradation.

As reported by the Daily Mail, 38-year-old Atherton met 69-year-old Vitale on Millionaire Match. The dating site reportedly connects wealthy individuals who share lifestyle and professional ambitions. What seemed like a promising match quickly turned into a situation that the outlet described as a ‘cuckolding fantasy.’ The lawsuit alleged that she was forced into a state of total submission.

Atherton, famous for the management book The Billion Dollar Blind$pot, claims that their relationship grew quickly after they first spoke in February 2025. She alleges that Vitale successfully gained her trust by showing constant attention, which led her to disclose a history of sexual abuse. According to the complaint, this knowledge was later used against her as the relationship progressed.

Things went sour right from their first physical meeting

During their first in-person meeting, the lawsuit claims that Vitale showered her with gifts, including jewelry and clothing. However, he quickly pushed her to wear a collar and participate in sexual encounters with him and another man. Despite this, they reportedly entered into a relationship. This initial encounter set a grim pattern for the future.

The pair eventually moved in together at Vitale’s $1.1 million beachfront condo in Clearwater, Florida. Additionally, the outlet reported that he sponsored her work visa through his company, Allstar Consulting Services. According to the lawsuit, Vitale’s behavior became increasingly erratic and controlling once Atherton’s visa was approved in August 2025.

Atherton alleges that she was forced to engage in sexual acts with other men, sometimes men who were reportedly receiving payment for their participation. The complaint further claims that Vitale insisted she perform these acts, and suggested that she open an OnlyFans account to work as a professional sex performer.

She alleges that he routinely used alcohol, marijuana, and drugs like nitrous oxide to keep her intoxicated during their encounters. One specific incident described in the court papers claims that Vitale used large sex toys on her while she was incapacitated, causing significant physical injury.

Despite her pleas to stop, the lawsuit alleges that he continued, and subsequently refused to allow her to seek medical care for her injuries. Beyond the physical abuse, the lawsuit claims that Vitale engaged in psychological torture, including forcing her to wear bondage attire to demonstrate her submission.

Per the outlet, he allegedly recorded their sexual encounters as well as encounters with other women who had not consented to being filmed. The footage was then reportedly shared with his friends. The complaint even goes so far as to allege that the pair watched content involving bestiality and child abuse on the dark web.

The Daily Mail reported that Atherton broke up with Vitale in December. As a result, per the lawsuit, Vitale retaliated by launching a campaign of online harassment, which included firing her from his consultancy and dissolving the company. This, in turn, threatened her legal status in the country. He also allegedly took to social media to disparage her, accusing her of being unfaithful and describing her as having “evil in her heart.”

It is important to note that the U.S. Government and Homeland Security offer specific protections for victims of certain crimes like human trafficking and domestic abuse. These protections can include employment authorization and the ability to self-petition for legal status, ensuring that victims aren’t forced to rely on their abusers to maintain their residency. These protections are provided through the Violence Against Women Act and the U Visa.

Atherton’s attorney, Matt Sarelson, told Daily Mail that this case is about showing that abuse doesn’t discriminate based on wealth or professional success. Atherton has chosen to remain public about her identity to help raise awareness for others in similar positions. The lawsuit includes a dozen counts, ranging from sex trafficking and forced labor to stalking and battery.

While none of the allegations have been proven, Sarelson expects the case to head to trial by the end of 2027. Vitale has not yet responded to requests for comment, and no attorney is listed for him in the current filings.

This is just one ending to a toxic relationship. Recently, an Atlanta TikToker shared that during her divorce, her husband sent her a list of ‘sacrifices’ he made for their relationship. On Reddit, a woman shared that her boyfriend encouraged her to take medication despite her concerns, and then used her credit card when she had a seizure.
