Tragedy struck Independence, Kentucky, on Sunday, September 21, 2025, when Heavan Glison, Daylon Bradford, and Donald Bryant died from gunshot wounds.

According to investigators, the incident stemmed from a domestic dispute between Glison, 24, and Bryant, 34, who shared a young child, and reports say they were once engaged to be married.

What happened to Heavan Glison?

The sequence of events began around 11:20 p.m. when Independence police responded to a report of shots fired at the Taylor Ridge Apartments on Regal Ridge Drive. Upon arrival, officers found Bradford, 33, outside the complex with a gunshot wound. He was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center in critical condition, where he died the next day.

Investigators learned that Glison fled into a nearby wooded area, and Bryant may have followed her. Authorities established a perimeter and deployed drones, K-9 units, and a SWAT team to search for the pair after gunshots were heard near where Glison and Bryant were believed to be.

Around 3 a.m., authorities discovered Bryant and Glison dead in the woods. Bryant had died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, while Glison had been shot and killed by Bryant.

The exact nature of the relationship between Bradford, Glison, and Bryant remains under investigation, though police confirmed that Bradford was a neighbor of Glison’s in the same apartment complex. The whereabouts of Bryant and Glison’s child is unclear. Police also ask the public to be on the lookout for a white 1992 Honda Prelude with a black hood in connection with the incident.
