‘I think I was kidnapped’: Daughter’s DNA hunt for truth causes her mother to have a shocking meltdown and now she is homeless

This tale just gets stranger and stranger.

A woman’s recent TikTok has sparked an online investigation as she details her belief that her own mother kidnapped her as a baby. Dominique Washington, who posts on TikTok as @everythingwithdomo, shared a nearly five-minute video, outlining several disturbing inconsistencies in her birth story that have led her to suspect something much darker, according to The Daily Dot.

The video quickly racked up 6.2 million views, over 840,000 likes, and 12,000 comments, with viewers becoming deeply invested in Washington’s search for answers. It’s a pretty wild story, and I can definitely see why so many people are following along. Washington captioned her video, “I think I was kidnapped am I delusional or not? I need answers,” and it’s clear she’s looking for some real clarity.

Washington starts by explaining that she has no baby photos of herself. While her siblings have plenty of pictures from when they were infants, her mother told her that all of Dominique’s baby photos were destroyed in a mysterious house fire. That’s a huge red flag right there, and I can’t imagine not having any photos from my earliest years. “I need to know if I’m like crazy, if I’m overthinking stuff, right?” Washington said in her video.

It is hard to explain why the mom is so secretive

The story gets even more unsettling. Washington asked her mother who was present in the hospital room when she was born. Her mom rattled off a list of people, including Washington’s father. However, when Washington spoke to her father, he flat-out denied being there. He told her, “Nobody did. Nobody was in that room with her.” That kind of direct contradiction from her own father would definitely make me question everything.

Trying to get to the bottom of things, Washington asked her mother to take a DNA test. Her mother refused, which is a pretty strong reaction in itself. At that point, Washington decided to take matters into her own hands. She saw her mother’s hairbrush and thought she could get the hair on it tested.

“She damn near knocked me into next week trying to get that brush and that hair,” Washington said, describing her mother’s frantic reaction. It’s hard to interpret that as anything but someone trying to hide something. Washington also mentioned her mother’s strong aversion to taking photos with her, further fueling her theory. “I need to know, I really need to know,” she added, emphasizing her desperation for the truth. “She’s always got a strange story.”

The comments section of Washington’s video quickly exploded with theories. Many viewers pointed out a striking resemblance between Washington and Alexis Patterson, a 7-year-old girl who went missing in 2002. “You look like Alexis Patterson! As an adult. Your face expressions and all,” one comment read. Another person wrote, “I definitely see the resemblance.” It’s wild how the internet can connect these dots, even if it’s just speculation.

This kind of thing is so interesting that many real-life kidnappings have been turned into movies, but many are far more horrific than this story may turn out to be. Just four days after her initial video went live, Washington posted an emotional update. She said she is actively looking into DNA testing options.

She also addressed the Alexis Patterson theory, stating that she believes she is likely not the missing child, though she did not elaborate on why.

The biggest news, and frankly, the most heartbreaking, is that Washington shared she was kicked out of her house by her mother for posting the video. Washington mentioned she would probably do a TikTok Live video soon to answer more of her followers’ questions. She also set up a GoFundMe to help her get back on her feet after being displaced from her home.
