Passenger shifts seats during taxi ride and starts touching the driver, but what he does next while the car is still moving still terrifying

This cab driver barely escaped alive

A cab driver in Dubai was violently attacked by a passenger, and now his family says the company is holding his passport and forcing him to work despite his injuries. The driver, who moved from Kenya just two months ago, was assaulted while driving his taxi through the city streets.

Dashcam footage from the car shows the passenger moving from the back seat to the space right behind the driver. The video captures what happened next in disturbing detail. The passenger started touching and groping the driver without permission. He put his hand around the driver’s chest, and when the driver tried to stop him, things got much worse.

According to The Sun, the passenger put the driver in a chokehold while the taxi was still moving on Dubai’s streets. The driver had to control the vehicle while being choked, and his screams of fear were caught on the dashcam recording.

The attack turned into a life-threatening situation

The attacker also shouted hateful words and death threats at the driver. The video recorded him yelling, “Shut the f*** up. You wanna f***ing die?” He continued choking the driver while making these threats. This incident shows how dangerous passenger behavior can become, similar to when innocent words led to serious consequences.

The driver eventually stopped the car and got out to escape. But the footage shows the attacker quickly moved into the driver’s seat as the video ended. It’s not clear if he drove away with the taxi.

The driver’s family says he was injured in the attack and is paying for all his medical bills himself. They also claim his employer is trying to make him return to work right away and is holding his passport to pressure him. He is yet to recover, but the company is blaming him for “absconding”. Violent incidents during travel continue to raise safety concerns, much like when a passenger caused an emergency landing.

The family has asked Kenya’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs for help. The driver had relocated to the Middle East two months earlier in search of better job opportunities. However, authorities in Kenya and the United Arab Emirates have not made any public statements about the incident yet. There’s also no confirmation yet on whether local authorities are investigating the assault.
