Strange, unsolicited packages from China are once again appearing on doorsteps in Texas, alarming residents and prompting warnings from state and federal officials. The parcels contain unidentified seeds and small vials of liquid, materials authorities say could pose serious environmental, agricultural, or public safety risks if handled improperly.
Several recipients reported that the packages were labelled as containing a “wire conductor,” a vague and misleading description that has only added to the confusion. None of the people who received the parcels said they had ordered anything or recognised the sender.
Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller issued a strong warning on Sunday. “Folks, please take this matter seriously,” he pleaded in a press release, according to The Sun. “Receiving any unsolicited liquid or chemical at your doorstep poses a significant risk to the health of you and your family.”
This disturbing trend has been going on for years
The Texas Department of Agriculture says it recently became aware of a mysterious package delivered to a residence in Clute, Texas. According to officials, the parcel originated in China and contained unidentified seeds along with a small container holding an unknown liquid.
The package was unsolicited, and the recipient told authorities they had not ordered anything matching the description. State agriculture officials say they are treating the contents with caution, as unknown seeds and liquids can pose potential risks to crops, native plants, livestock, and public safety.
The Texas Department of Agriculture is now working with other agencies to collect and analyse the materials, while urging residents to report similar packages and avoid opening, planting, or disposing of them on their own.
Since February 2025, the Texas Department of Agriculture has picked up seed deliveries from 109 different places across Texas. In total, they have collected 1,101 packs of unwanted seeds. This isn’t the only bizarre thing Americans have encountered that has raised safety concerns.
Miller warned all Texans to be very careful if they get packages they didn’t order that have unknown seeds or liquids inside. He said the state cannot let unidentified seeds come into Texas. Officials are treating these deliveries as a serious threat.
They want residents to report any suspicious packages immediately and not open them or plant the seeds. Government agencies have faced criticism recently for how they handle public safety matters. The exact reason why these packages are being sent remains unclear. Authorities continue to investigate the source and purpose of these mysterious deliveries from China.
