Remains ‘resembling’ missing and pregnant Rebecca Kay Park recovered. What about her unborn child?

Searchers found a body that investigators say “resembles” missing 22-year-old Rebecca Kay Park on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, in the Manistee National Forest near Boon Township, Michigan. Officials have not confirmed the identity or the status of her unborn child pending an autopsy.

The discovery came during a volunteer search effort after Park vanished on November 3, which drew national attention due to the circumstances of her disappearance. Accounts differ on who actually located the remains: Park’s father told the media he found her while actively searching on a two-track near her mother’s home.

At the same time, a volunteer searcher, identified in local reports as Amy Letterman, also told reporters she discovered Park while out with a search group. Authorities have not publicly reconciled those conflicting accounts. 

Also unexplained, searchers found the remains in an area that had already been covered. Reporters and law enforcement emphasize that the body’s identification and cause of death remain under review. 

2 arrests, no explanation

Meanwhile, according to local news outlet WBPN/WGTU, two people connected to Park have been taken into custody as the investigation continues. Wexford County jail records report Park’s fiancé, Richard Falor, is in custody; local reporting and online booking logs also indicate Park’s sister, Kimberly Park, was booked, though officials have not publicly detailed charges or confirmed how either person factors into the ongoing investigation or if the arrests are connected in any way to Park’s disappearance.

Park’s disappearance set off a large community search that included law enforcement K-9s, drones and dozens of volunteers after she was last seen leaving her biological mother’s home late on November 3.

Her mother, Courtney Bartholomew, has been widely reported as the last person to see her; Bartholomew told reporters that Rebecca said, “Hold on. I got somebody to pick me up. This is just something I have to do. I’m sorry,” before getting into a dark-colored vehicle. Her cellphone was later found abandoned on a nearby two-track road, an odd detail loved ones say was out of character.

The circumstances of Park’s abrupt disappearance created controversy online and in the small northwestern Michigan community. Social media posts and viral videos raised unverified allegations about strained family relationships, inconsistent accounts, and long-running local rumors, including claims about who was close to whom and what exactly happened the night she vanished. Local outlets and law enforcement have repeatedly cautioned the public to rely on verified statements as investigators collect evidence and interview potential witnesses. 

Authorities are asking anyone with information about Park’s movements on November 3 or the days afterward to contact the Wexford County Sheriff’s Office. The family has set up reward funds and continues to ask for privacy as investigators piece together what led to Park’s disappearance.
