This week, followers of 90 Day Fiancé alum Kalani Faagata were taken aback by her surprise announcement of the birth of her third child. This was especially surprising as Kalani and her then-husband, Asuelu Pulaa, last appeared on screen as a married couple less than a year ago, on the spin-off series 90 Day: The Last Resort. On the season finale the pair apparently called time on their marriage, after multiple instances of cheating by Aseulu.
Since then, Kalani has kept her personal life private on social media as she navigates her new life after her marriage – which is why her baby announcement surprised so many fans. After the announcement, Kalani’s new partner has stepped out of the shadows and made some public posts about their relationship. Here’s what we know about the mystery man.
Dallas was first mentioned on 90 Day: The Last Resort
On 90 Day: The Last Resort, Kalani Faagata opened up about being granted a “hall pass” by her husband Aseulu Pulaa due to Aseulu’s infidelity. In the premiere episode, Kalani revealed in group therapy that both she and her husband had been unfaithful in their marriage, and attempts to correct the course of their relationship had failed.
After a case of oral thrush revealed that Aseulu had been with another woman, Aseulu permitted his wife to kiss another man to make things even. However, it was later revealed that the infection came from more than just kissing. In the negotiation, Kalani used the term “hall pass” to refer to her new mystery man.
This deal did not, however, make things better for the couple. Kalani admitted to developing feelings for her “hall pass” and that they did more than just kiss. A tearful Aseulu admitted that this change felt like a betrayal, and things did not feel even after all.
Furthermore, Asuelu admitted that he didn’t want his wife to take him up on the hall pass offer, “It’s really hard because I give her the permission to go kiss somebody, when I say that, I have trust for her that she’s not going to do that.”
“I never meant to stay in touch with this guy, but I’m also not the type of person that can sleep with someone and just forget about it,” Kalani admitted, adding that despite everything, “I really want to make my marriage work with Asuelu.”
What we know about Dalton, Kalani’s new partner
Kalani’s new romantic partner is Dallas Nuez, a security guard based in Kalani’s new home state of California, in an August 2023 report by In Touch Weekly. Fans had long speculated that Kalani was seeing someone new before her appearance on The Last Resort as far back as December 2022, based on photos shared by the reality star on Instagram. Dallas was nicknamed “the tattooed man” by fans, as his inked arms and hands gave away the fact that Kalani was not with Asuelu.
Dallas appeared in Kalani’s Instagram stories multiple times, appearing to be in either his or her home kitchen. According to an exclusive by The U.S. Sun at the time The Last Resort was airing, Dallas has been introduced to Kalani’s family, and they were “ready to move in together.”
While Dallas has not shown his face on Kalani’s Instagram, his presence has been there. As obtained by Yahoo! Kalani posted an Instagram story of Dallas from the back in October 2023, right after The Last Resort finale, captioned “I waited a year for this”.
Although Dallas has a confirmed Instagram page, titled @dallas.n714, that Kalani has tagged in posts, he hasn’t shown his face just yet. However, he has posted photos of himself kissing Kalani. In February 2024, Kalani celebrated the couple’s first anniversary.
In new photos of Kalani’s newborn daughter, Dallas can be seen holding the baby, recognizable by his hairstyle and distinct tattoos. On his own Instagram story, documented by Yahoo!, Dallas posted a (once again, self-censored) image of him, seemingly at home, holding his new daughter, with the song “Darcie’s Lullaby” attached and his face covered by a smiling, eyes-covered-with-tears emoji.
Although Dallas has clearly opted for privacy regarding people recognizing his face due to the publicity Kalani gets as a reality TV star, his support and love for his new partner is evident in what they are willing to reveal about their inner lives on social media.
