Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returned for its third and final season 4 "pod" last week with a mind-bending journey into The Framework, and tomorrow night, Daisy and Simmons continue their mission to rescue their teammates from the HYDRA-controlled reality they find themselves unwittingly trapped in. A previous sneak peek from the episode brought us up to speed with Mack and his young daughter, and this latest clip seemingly takes place immediately after the midseason premiere's closing scene, as Daisy is finally able to get through to her old mentor and father figure, Phil Coulson.

A previous sneak peek from the episode brought us up to speed with Mack and his young daughter, and this latest clip seemingly takes place immediately after the midseason premiere’s closing scene, as Daisy’s finally able to get through to her old mentor and father figure, Phil Coulson. In the last episode, Gemma Simmons tried and failed to force school teacher Coulson to remember his real life as a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, but right at the end, Daisy had much better luck after their boss had a chance to think about things for a while. Here, we see the pair continue their conversation, and although Coulson seems ready to believe that HYDRA has been messing with his mind, he may just have fallen a little too far down the conspiracy theory rabbit hole.

It’ll be interesting to see how well Daisy and co. work with Grant Ward, who’s a member of the Resistance in this reality and might well turn out to be their only means of escaping the Framework. Then, of course, there’s the additional problem of an evil incarnation of Fitz and the ruthless Madame HYDRA to contend with.

Find out how our heroes fare when Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns with “Identity and Change” tomorrow night on ABC.
