Now that the Ghost Rider storyline has wrapped up (for the time being, anyway), Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. kicks off its LMD arc when it returns from its winter hiatus next Tuesday night. It’s already been confirmed that Doctor Radcliffe’s beautiful, but deadly android Aida will be the show’s next big bad, and in this first sneak peek from the midseason premiere, “Broken Promises,” we see her rebel against her human masters for the first time.
The clip begins with Radcliffe arriving home with Fitz and several nameless Agents to find Aida waiting on him. Despite attempting to play it cool, the synthetic stunner sees through their ruse, and when the good doctor tries to shut his creation down, things quickly turn violent. Aida reveals that she’s added “a few upgrades” of her own, and strikes Radcliffe before the scene ends. We’ll assume at least Fitz and Radcliffe walk away from this, but we’re not so sure about the red shirts with them.
It’s going to be very interesting to see how all of this plays out, especially with Agent May’s “Life Model Decoy” fully integrated into the team, and Coulson and co. none the wiser. Does Aida have more LMDs operating within S.H.I.E.L.D. that we’re not aware of yet, perhaps?
