Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returned after a sort hiatus this past Tuesday night to deliver one of the strongest episodes of the season so far. In it, we found out that Fitz, Coulson and Robbie were actually trapped in a parallel dimension (think the “Upside-Down” from Netflix’s Stranger Things), and could only return with the help of Aida the android.

We also saw the Spirit of Vengeance leave Robbie and inhabit Mack for a brief time, before striking up a new deal and returning to its former host. The board is now set for a final confrontation with the evil Eli Morrow, and it looks like the team will be calling in an old friend for assistance.

The promo for “The Laws of Inferno Dynamics” reveals that Coulson and co. need to call in the “big guns” to attempt to defeat Morrow, and the biggest guns at their disposal are Quake, Ghost Rider and the returning Yo-Yo Rodriguez. Plus, it looks like Simmons is going to disclose the location of the mysterious Inhuman to the others, possibly in an effort to rescue him. And, of course, Robbie will finally confront his now mega-powerful uncle one-on-one.

The episode is being marketed as “Ghost Rider’s last stand” – could this be the last we see of Robbie Reyes and his fiery passenger? Tune in next Tuesday for the midseason finale of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. to find out.
