Amateur attorneys are convinced Wong committed perjury in ‘She-Hulk’

Did Wong do wrong?

A year after Abomination incongruously turned up for a cage match in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law episode three finally offered up an explanation. Tatiana Maslany’s Jennifer Walters got Wong to show up as a character witness at Emil Blonsky’s parole trial, with the Master of the Mystic Arts explaining that he persuaded the former villain to leave his cell because he needed a worthy opponent to battle as per his training to become the Sorcerer Supreme.

While you might expect that explanation to be the end of it, Marvel fans aren’t so convinced that this is the true story, with the amateur attorneys of the r/MarvelStudios subreddit going so far as to accuse Wong of perjury as they believe he was telling Blonsky’s parole board a little white lie. For starters, many suspect he actually busted Abomination out of jail several times.

After all, there is that telling line from Shang-Chi

Would Wong do something so wrong?

Some think Wong lied for altruistic reasons in order to help Emil’s redemption along.

The arrangement might’ve been a mutually beneficial one. Wong’s definitely a better fighter these days.

Aw, we love a good “worthy opponent in an underground fight club to friends” story.

Others aren’t so sure there’s a big conspiracy to unpick here and think Wong was actually telling the truth.

Perhaps further episodes will dig a little deeper into Wong and Abomination’s unexpected partnership as the trailers have confirmed that Tim Roth and Benedict Wong will be back for more after last week’s installment. Catch She-Hulk: Attorney at Law as it continues Thursdays on Disney Plus.
