An MCU series that earned 4.8 billion minutes viewed might be finally inspiring a character to reach their full potential

It's about time.

While the likes of Loki, Ms. Marvel, and Moon Knight undoubtedly have their fans, WandaVision is inarguably the most successful Marvel Studios series to hit Disney Plus to date. What with its multiple Emmy nominations and a whopping 4.8 billion minutes viewed across its nine-part run back in early 2021, nothing has topped the Scarlet Witch show in terms of cultural impact. Which is probably why it’s the first MCU streaming series to produce a spin-off, in the form of Agatha: Coven of Chaos.

And, according to the latest exciting intel on the Kathryn Hahn vehicle, Agatha is all set to offer a tease at a familiar character finally coming into their own. While yet to be officially confirmed, Wanda’s son Billy Maximoff is fully expected to return in Coven of Chaos, this time as a teenager — and likely played by Heartstopper star Joe Locke. In the comics, of course, fans know Billy better as Wiccan, a member of the Young Avengers.

As per scooper CanWeGetSomeToast, Billy will level up in the spin-off in such a way that’ll prove he’s a chip off the old block when it comes to inheriting his mother’s phenomenal mystical powers. “We will get a taste of his potential” in Agatha: Coven of Chaos, is what the insider had to say, thereby making Young Avengers fans’ days in the process.

With Kate Bishop herself Hailee Steinfeld just recently admitting that she’s “chomping at the bit” to join her fellow next-gen MCU heroes in an on-screen Young Avengers team, it looks like the pieces are finally coming into play to make this a reality before too long. Other potential additions on the near horizon include Eli Bradley/Patriot in Captain America: Brave New World and maybe Hulkling in The Marvels.

Agatha: Coven of Chaos is likely to arrive sometime in the first quarter of 2024.
