It seems that Carrie Bradshaw’s irresistible charm extends far beyond the pages of her column, and all the way to the untapped territory of the Apple store. That’s right, the tech world finally succumbed to the allure of Sex and the City‘s sequel, And Just Like That.
Perhaps it was the show’s undeniable iconic status, forever etched in the hearts of devoted fans that made it happen. Or maybe, just maybe, it was a hefty check that made its way into the right hands, but whatever it was, And Just Like That managed to get Apple on board with the trio’s shenanigans. According to the intrepid locations manager through IndieWire, the sequel received the green light to grace the halls of an Apple store with a camera, and Apple CEO Tom Cook even played a pivotal role in giving their blessings to the filming location.
“They work so much with the show, the contact there kind of helped kick it up the flagpole to make it happen,” locations manager Julie Sage told IndieWire. “That was one of the easier ones for me on my end.”
This surprising turn of events didn’t exactly appear out of thin air. While And Just Like That hasn’t quite reached the soaring heights of its predecessor (yet), the sequel is still riding high on the coattails of Sex and the City‘s iconic status. As a matter of fact, the crew even had to hire “cupcake bouncers,” after the series popularized this offering. Seems like everyone still wants to get their slice of Carrie Bradshaw’s glamorous and enviable life in Sex and the City.
And Just Like That is currently airing its second season on HBO Max.
