Arrow Cast Teases What’s Next For Roy Harper In Season 7

After guest starring in season 6, Colton Haynes is returning to the regular cast of Arrow this September for the first time since way back in season 3 (excluding his one-episode comeback in season 4). It's not yet known exactly how Roy Harper will return to Star City and team up with his old pals once again. But the cast of The CW's long-running DC TV show were on hand to tease Roy's return at this summer's San Diego Comic-Con.

After guest starring in season 6, Colton Haynes is returning to the regular cast of Arrow this October for the first time since way back in season 3 (excluding his one-episode comeback in season 4). It’s not yet known exactly how or why Roy Harper makes a return trip to Star City, but the cast of The CW’s long-running DC TV show were on hand to tease the man formally known as Arsenal’s comeback at this summer’s San Diego Comic-Con.

First off, star Stephen Amell gushed about the return of his old friend and gave an intriguing hint that Roy’s storyline will take some interesting turns in the upcoming seventh season, as it’s apparently difficult to guess where the character will be going.

“It’s fantastic, man! I love Colton! So having him back is terrific, and — you know — his stuff this season? I could give you an hour to guess, to pontificate as to what he’s going to be doing, and none of you would get it. It’s amazing.”

Juliana Harkavy – who plays Black Canary on the show – then spoke about how Haynes’ addition to the ensemble cast improved the atmosphere on set, as he’s such a popular presence.

“Just as far as the overall feel on set, it’s been great, because everyone loves Colton. I think everybody really missed him, so it feels more like a family with him and it feels more complete with him.”

Finally, Rick Gonzales – AKA Wild Dog – added that he can’t wait for Arrow fans to see Roy Harper back where he belongs.

“I’m excited to see the fans to see Colton back! Colton’s back!”

Haynes himself spoke about his Arrow return last month, too, and teased something similar to what Amell was saying. The actor explained that he was coaxed back to the DC universe due to a phone call with exec producer Greg Berlanti, where he pitched him “the craziest idea.” Haynes explained that “Roy Harper’s coming back in a way that no one is going to understand.”

Well, color us intrigued! Thankfully, we’re getting ever closer to Arrow‘s return to our screens on Monday, October 15th, and as soon as we learn more about what Roy will be up to, we’ll be sure to let you know.
