Arrow: Felicity Will Be “Getting In Deep” With Helix Before Long

While Oliver Queen has been known to make some morally grey decisions on Arrow, Felicity Smoak has kept her nose pretty clean for the most part. But, as we’ve seen in recent weeks, this “hacktivist” group known as Helix has gotten her to do some less than savory favors (drone hacking, anyone?).

Further cementing the old adage that the road to Hell is paved with good intentions, it sounds like the computer whiz will soon be in over her head, as executive producer Wendy Mericle recently told Entertainment Weekly:

“Helix has a game plan, and Felicity has come in there with a very specific agenda: She wants to get revenge against Prometheus, get revenge against Adrian [Josh Segarra].  She’s not thinking about the pieces and how it’s all fitting into the bigger mosaic. She’s getting in deep. There’s going to be some trouble, and she’s going to find herself having to make some decisions she knows are wrong, and she’s not going to be able to see it until it’s almost too late.”

Although it’s not unheard of for this show to answer certain questions until the following season (don’t expect to find out who Vigilante really is until season 6, for example), it seems like we’ll get a look at the man behind the curtain before long:

“We are going to see somebody [else]. What’s interesting about it is he’s not actually at Helix right now, so there’s going to be a big episode where we find out who this person is, and Felicity is involved in helping him. It’s really messed up.”

I can’t help but wonder if this will segue into the mystery man being the big bad for season 6, should the overarching threat not prove to be Katie Cassidy’s Black Siren. As you may recall, Damien Darhk was set up in season 3 before being formally introduced the following year, so let’s not rule out something similar.

Arrow airs on Wednesday nights on The CW.
