Will The Monitor Appear In The Flash And Supergirl’s Finales As Well?

Last night's Arrow season 7 finale ended the penultimate run of the mother show of the Arrowverse with a major tease for the upcoming "Crisis on Infinite Earths" crossover this fall. Last night’s Arrow season 7 finale ended the penultimate run of the mother show of the Arrowverse with a major tease for the upcoming “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover this fall. And it’s left us wondering whether the season finales for The Flash, Supergirl and, less likely but also possible, Legends of Tomorrow will do the same.

The Arrow finale, “You Have Saved This City,” saw Oliver Queen visited by The Monitor (LaMonica Garrett), first introduced in last year’s “Elseworlds” event. The cosmic being revealed he’d come to collect on the deal they made back then. As fans have theorized, the Green Arrow bargained with his own life to save the Flash and Supergirl from their fates written in the Book of Destiny.

Before it’s time to pay his debt, however, The Monitor has use for the Emerald Archer and took the hero with him to help him save the Multiverse. It seems the events of the Crisis that threaten every universe have already kicked off, so will Mar Novu come to enlist the Flash and Supergirl’s aid in their own finales as well?

Obviously, The Monitor doesn’t need to pay Barry and Kara a visit as they don’t owe him like Ollie does, but having the powerful being show up in each of the Arrowverse show’s finales would be a neat way of paving the way for the “Crisis” crossover that’s to come in just a few months. Something similar was already done prior to “Elseworlds” – the same prelude featuring The Monitor on Earth-90 was played across all three series.

As the Legends have had nothing to do with the multiversal threat so far – they sat out “Elseworlds,” remember – we’re less certain about saying Novu could show up on the Waverider as well. If we had to pick one other show he’s most likely to turn up on, it’d be The Flash, as showrunner Todd Helbing promised the season 5 finale would reference “Crisis” in a big way.

In any case, we’ll see if we’re right about Arrow starting a trend when The Flash 5×22 “Legacy” airs tonight on The CW.
