Stephen Amell is the daddy of the Arrowverse, as he’s seen The CW’s DC TV universe expand exponentially since he first donned the Green Arrow’s hood in 2012. Every year, the star gets to check in on the spinoff shows that came after Arrow – namely, The Flash, Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow – and this year will also introduce Ruby Rose’s Batwoman ahead of her own series, coming in 2019.
With such an enormous shared universe to roam around, is it difficult for Amell to decide which of the shows is his favorite to travel over to as a guest star? Apparently not. While speaking in a candid interview with Michael Rosenbaum on his Inside Of You podcast, the actor quickly admitted that The Flash is his favorite Arrowverse show to crossover with, as he really enjoys working with Grant Gustin.
“Flash is my favorite show to go to, because there’s something special about doing scenes with Grant. I just love doing scenes with him, there’s just something about [that dynamic]…”
MORE FROM THE WEB
This makes a lot of sense. The Flash was the first spinoff from Arrow and Amell has a long history of cameoing on it. I mean, he did show up in the Scarlet Speedster’s pilot episode, after all. His working relationship with Gustin goes back even further as well, as the latter debuted as Barry Allen on Arrow season 2. Naturally, then, Amell would be fondest of getting the chance to team-up once again with his old pal.
As we said before, this year’s Arrowverse crossover is going to be one of the biggest yet. While Legends won’t feature, meaning the event will only last three nights, it’ll introduce Batwoman and also bring Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman into the fold, along with Lois Lane making her Arrowverse debut. Plot details remain scarce for the time being, but there’s certainly much to look forward to.
Arrow begins its seventh season on October 15th, while the crossover kicks off on December 9th.
