New Arrow Synopsis Teases Laurel Helping Oliver

To say Earth-2's Laurel Lance is a complicated woman is an understatement. Having originally debuted during The Flash's second season, she naturally made her way over to Arrow during the following year, where she was responsible for giving Oliver Queen and company one headache after another.

But after allying herself with big bads like Prometheus and Ricardo Diaz, Black Siren eventually found redemption through her not-dad, Quentin Lance, and has pretty much reformed following his death. These days, she’s doing her best to live on the straight and narrow as Star City’s District Attorney.

Thankfully, the new Laurel in town will put her legal skills to good use in a couple of weeks when she seemingly does her best to get Ollie out of prison. At least, that’s the impression we’re being given by the official synopsis for “Due Process,” which we have right here:

LAUREL STEPS IN TO HELP OLIVER — Slabside becomes even more dangerous after a guard is murdered and everyone is a suspect. Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) enlists help from a surprising source in her pursuit of Diaz (Kirk Acevedo), and Laurel (Katie Cassidy) flexes her muscles as the District Attorney. Kristin Windell directed the episode written by Sarah Tarkhoff & Tonya Kong (#706). Original airdate 11/19/2018.

Despite Ms. Lance’s best efforts, my gut says she won’t succeed in her quest. Don’t forget, the episode to follow is titled “The Slabside Redemption,” so there remains a decent chance of Oliver not wanting to wait for a miracle and instead taking it upon himself to escape from lockup.

Either way, this could put us one step closer to Black Siren joining Team Arrow proper if and when a reunion occurs. Given her recent team-up of sorts with Dinah Drake, one could say that both gals have grown much as people by being able to put aside their differences.

Arrow airs on Monday nights on The CW, with “Due Process” being slated to debut on November 19th.
