Roy Harper in Arrow

Arsenal Returns To The Present-Day In New Arrow Photos

Maybe it's just me, but I've been kind of bummed that Colton Haynes' Roy Harper hasn't featured in any present-day scenes to date in Arrow's seventh season. Even though it's cool to see him in the flash forward segments, I can't be the only person dying to know what became of him after he left town with Thea Queen about a year ago.

Fortunately, that’ll change next week during “Confessions” when we’re guaranteed to see Arsenal circa 2019. Right now, details remain scarce regarding the reason for his return, though the network has made it known that Team Arrow requires his assistance with the Ninth Circle’s latest shenanigans.

On the downside, fortune won’t smile upon our heroes because the official synopsis promises that “things go awry and there is massive collateral damage.” My best guess is that Emiko Queen and her cohorts successfully unleash the biological weapon obtained during this past Monday’s episode, “Spartan.” For now, though, you can gaze upon various members of the team getting grilled by Dinah Drake and the SCPD in the gallery below.

Speaking of Emiko, she also makes a few appearances in the slideshow, as she’s likely strengthened her hold on the organization now that she’s apparently murdered Dante. I found his sendoff to be a bit surprising because of how largely he factored into Benjamin Percy’s Green Arrow comic book run, but it’s important to remember that this is an adaptation and maybe the producers want to focus on the violent sibling rivalry between Emiko and Oliver.

For more on “Confessions,” here’s the aforementioned synopsis:

ARSENAL RETURNS TO HELP THE TEAM — When they learn of an upcoming attack on the city, Team Arrow calls Roy Harper (Colton Haynes) to help them stop the Ninth Circle. However, things go awry and there is massive collateral damage. As Captain of the SCPD, Dinah (Juliana Harkavy) investigates what happened in an episode that takes on a true crime narrative and tone. Tara Miele directed the episode written by Onalee Hunter Hughes & Emilio Ortega Aldrich (#720). Original airdate 4/29/2019.

Arrow airs on Monday nights on The CW.
