Ash Vs. Evil Dead Ratings Are On The Decline

Even with Ash vs. Evil Dead still kicking all kinds of ass, one can never be too sure of the longevity of any given series. Really, decisions regarding renewals and cancellations are ultimately up to the networks themselves, so all we the viewers can ever do is to keep on watching and hope for the best.

To be more specific, we mean watching the show on Starz, and not illegally downloading it. Sure, the torrenting game might seem more convenient for some, but it does nothing to help this or any series with getting picked up for additional seasons. So, if piracy is your choice, you have no right to complain if the ax comes down.

That said, this is how many people who have tuned in for the first three episodes of the current season, which we’ll remind you mark series lows:

Episode 3.1, “Family” – 225,000 viewers
Episode 3.2, “Booth Three” – 171, 000 viewers
Episode 3.3 “Apparently Dead”- 160,000 Viewers

Keep in mind that previous season premieres pulled in over 400,000 viewers, with 237,000 serving as the former low point. Granted, Ash vs. Evil Dead has had The Walking Dead and the Academy Awards to contend with, but one can never be too sure if the network will grant mercy.

In fact, a decision regarding the show’s future could come soon, lest we forget Bruce Campbell recently had this to say:

“We won’t know [if we’ve been renewed] till the middle of March. We’re in the horrible television limbo right now. If they take us off the air, we can think about another movie. And if they don’t, we can just keep plugging away.”

So, even if Ash vs. Evil Dead were to get cancelled, there remains a silver lining of sorts. Just as Campbell said, it’d essentially open the door for an Evil Dead 4, something we know many diehard fans have been clamoring for. Time will ultimately tell what happens, but we’ll keep you updated as more develops.
