Barry Allen Returns As A Changed Man In The Flash Season 4 Promo

Even though we were treated to a hearty helping of new footage and information a couple months ago at San Diego Comic-Con, The CW has been somewhat mum when it comes to releasing individual promos for its various DC TV shows. Even though we were treated to a hearty helping of new footage and information a couple months ago at San Diego Comic-Con, The CW has been somewhat mum when it comes to releasing individual promos for its various DC TV shows. Luckily, that’s now changing as we’re four weeks removed from the commencement of the next “super season.”

A few days ago, we received a new look at what Supergirl has to offer and, now, the network has finally dropped some new footage from season 4 of The Flash. Appropriately titled “Hero Reborn,” the new promo shows Barry Allen now freed from the Speed Force, which comes as a relief when you consider that most of what was shown in San Diego more so focused on the rest of the S.T.A.R. Labs crew.

Actually, we’ve known to expect Barry returning from his ethereal prison a changed man for a while now, but we’re starting to get hints as to just how much as time goes on. Right now, it remains a mystery as to what he endured during his time there, but when you figure that Wally West had to relive his mother’s death over and over again back in season 3, odds are that the Scarlet Speedster didn’t have the dandiest of experiences himself. Plus, nothing illustrates the passing of time or says “I’ve seen some things, man!” like a fully grown beard.

Still, it stands to reason that not everything witnessed today will be seen in the premiere itself. It’s highly possible that this footage has been culled from the first two or three episodes, lest we forget the earliest season 3 trailers did the same thing a year ago at this time.

The Flash returns for its fourth season on Tuesday, October 10 on The CW.
