‘Breaking Bad’ fans have something to say after ‘Succession’ gets lauded for the best episode of TV ever

As the latest episode of 'Succession' makes television history, 'Breaking Bad' fans clap back at suggestions that the shows are on par.

Last night’s shocking and unexpected plot twist catapulted the third episode of the final season of Succession to the lofty heights where Breaking Bad‘s “Ozymandias” once reigned in lonely splendor as the only television episode to score a perfect rating on IMDb.

“Connor’s Wedding” was instantly placed on par with “Ozymandias.” However, Succession’s triumph saw Breaking Bad’s magnum opus trending on social media as the pinnacle of television excellence. Fans acknowledged that it may have achieved the same rating, but Walter White’s finest hour remains the gold standard.

Breaking Bad fans shrugged off claims that “Connor’s Wedding” was the apex of great television and asserted that “Ozymandias” is sovereign.

Other fans took a more hubristic stance, suggesting that Breaking Bad is out of Succession’s league.

Some viewers were admittedly awed by “Connor’s Wedding”, but their preference for Breaking Bad was undiminished.

For other views, watching one was a transformative experience that made the other all the more relatable.

Some fans argued that both episodes were on par with each other.

However, the impact of “Connor’s Wedding” saw multitudes of fans revisiting the classic episode of Breaking Bad in such great numbers that it compromised the servers.

It is a well-deserved achievement for an outstanding effort. However, it is also true that “Ozymandias” has maintained its 10/10 rating from a colossal 193 000 users, dwarfing the competition, which has been rated by 650 users thus far. Both are zeitgeist moments in television, yet it’s understandable why Breaking Bad fans aren’t eager to surrender the throne.
