There are so many ways a spinoff can go, and no one's trying to let go of Ted Lasso.

The ending to Ted Lasso came without a warning, a final show with no promise of tomorrow. As rumors started to swirl of the multitude of spinoff ideas that actually exist, assistant coach and creator of the show, Brendan Hunt, had a few things to say about what might and what might not happen in the future.

Brendan Hunt played the straight-laced, somewhat quirky second man to Jason Sudeikis, the clueless soccer coach who somehow makes it work for him. After landing the role as Busker in An Amsterdam Tale in 1999, he’s been in some really great projects, including We’re the Millers in 2013, Key and Peele from 2012 to 2015, and Casual in 2017. However, it’s arguable that Ted Lasso is his greatest achievement yet and no one wants to see it go away.

If the story about the football team AFC Richmond isn’t going to continue, and there are no talks of a season 4 at all, there are plenty of ways that the storyline can go if a spinoff was to occur. The team’s bright and shining star, Phil Dunster, talked with CBS Mornings about being ready for a spinoff if one were to be created. Even Juno Temple alludes to the notion of a female football team spinoff.

So, is there going to be one? Do fans really have to say goodbye to everything Ted Lasso and just go on with their lives, or will there be something else, anything else?

Of course, one of the first questions asked at the AMA was if there was going to be a spinoff.

To which Brendan answered that there are many possibilities, as well as the one that lets all the fans down in saying there may never be another Ted Lasso or anything associated with it.

Nate leaving Richmond and playing for the enemy was hard for everyone to deal with, because Ted Lasso had given the wonder kid a chance, only to have Nate turn against the team. When he came back, it was handled swiftly and without much of an arc. Of course, he was charged £5,000 for missing the games, the practices, and the dinners, but was that enough to say bygones?

Of course, the most important question of all finally came up.

And that was a wrap for the creator of one of the best shows fans have seen in a while. So, there is no spinoff planned, and a fourth season has actually been shot down for now. However, anything’s possible in Hollywood, so keep reaching for the stars because Ted Lasso isn’t the kind of thing that comes around to do a few seasons and then just fade away.
