E! News is reporting that Britney has signed a contract for $15 million dollars to join Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid. She is officially a part of the Season 2 judging panel as a close source has reported.

“The contract is signed. It’s all completed and Britney is beyond excited … She is excited about showing the world that she can do this, and do this well. This is the perfect next stage in her career. Both Britney and Simon are very excited to work together.”

All of this comes after rumors that Disney superstars Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato might partake as judges on this upcoming season as well. They are two names among a long list of stars that includes Fergie and Janet Jackson, who have also been linked to the show.

However, the latter two stars have already squashed any rumors they will be judges this upcoming season. Most recently, rumors that LeAnn Rimes will join the show as a potential new judge turned out to be true. The country star is in strong negotiations with the network at this time.

The show has some interesting shoes to fill since a couple of judges were ousted after the first season. In a lot of ways, anyone who watched Season 1, despite how they feel about Abdul and Scherzinger, can understand the changes being made.

While Fox has not announced any final details for The X Factor Season 2, they are said to announce all details by the time the annual Fall schedule is announced.
