‘Bro…’: A beloved MCU veteran left incredulous at Disney CEO’s criticism of Marvel’s ‘diluted focus’ on TV

The boss is hardly endearing himself to the rank and file.

Even though he was the one who placed so much focus on the relentless expansion of Disney Plus, company CEO Bob Iger seems as though he’s beginning to regret his decision somewhat.

Not only has he overseen a ruthless content purge that’s led to many movies and TV shows being removed from the platform and cast into the never-ending abyss of nothingness, but he’s even fired a couple of thinly-veiled shots in the direction of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s downturn.

While the superhero franchise has admittedly been favoring quantity over quality since the beginning of the Multiverse Saga, it’s not as if Kevin Feige simply decides to forge ahead on so many productions of his own accord; it’s Iger who needs to give the green light for anything to make it in front of cameras.

One person left incredulous by the bossman’s recent outburst was none other than Clark Gregg, who knows a thing or two about televised Marvel content having headlined all seven seasons of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which clearly Iger doesn’t regard as official canon, either.

Saying “Marvel has not been in the TV business at any significant level” is a slap in the face to anyone who was involved in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., never mind its huge number of fans. Gregg might have been part of the movies, too, but it’s easy to see why he was rendered virtually speechless at the person in charge of Disney – which owns both Marvel and ABC, the companies behind the series – effectively dismissing something he dedicated almost a decade of his life to as utterly irrelevant.
