It's the return that we deserve.

When Bryan Fuller’s blood-splattered thriller series Hannibal first touched down on NBC, it didn’t take long at all for the engaging show to reach a global audience. Of course, the inclusion of the series on Netflix turned out to be a major help in that department — although it bears repeating that NBC initially snatched the narrative from us way too soon. And with the recent announcement of Lockwood & Co.’s cancellation, thrill-seeking subscribers are reminding the powers that be about the possibility of a Hannibal return.

The subject matter has transformed into a hot topic over on Twitter, where fans of the enthralling series are championing for Netflix to make it available to stream again. But with the streaming giant currently so wrapped up in canceling a parade of hit fantasy series over the last few years, it’s clear Fuller’s project is still in the rearview mirror in an “out of sight, out of mind” state.

Despite its overwhelming popularity, the series was eventually canceled after three seasons — a choice that still haunts devoted fans to this day. So, with the concept of Netflix placing the show back on the platform for streaming purposes, it’s certainly fair to say that the next big thing would be for the streaming service to completely back a potential season four.

But with Netflix continuing its horrid warpath of slaughtering beloved shows, Hannibal fans probably shouldn’t hold their breath for too long and hold out for a season four. However, keeping hope alive that the show will soon return to the platform in the future feels like a strong possibility.
