LeVar Burton Shares More Star Trek: The Next Generation Reunion Photos

There's a hell of a lot going on in Star Trek right now. Series 2 of Star Trek: Discovery is about to air, the next movie in the Kelvinverse is being developed (so long as they can work out Chris Pine and Liam Hemsworth's pay), Quentin Tarantino is hoping to direct his own Trek movie and, in an awesomely unexpected move, Patrick Stewart is going to reprise the role of Captain Jean-Luc Picard in a new TV show. With all that going on, it's the perfect time look back and smell the roses, as (most of) The Next Generation cast did on this reunion dinner over the weekend.

Season 2 of Discovery is gearing up to air in a few months, the next movie in the Kelvinverse is being developed (so long as they can work out Chris Pine and Chris Hemsworth’s pay), Quentin Tarantino is hoping to direct his own Trek film and, in an awesomely unexpected move, Patrick Stewart is going to reprise the role of Captain Jean-Luc Picard in a new TV show.

With all that happening, it’s the perfect time look back and smell the roses, as (most of) The Next Generation cast did during a reunion dinner over the weekend. We already saw a photo of the gang yesterday but now, we have a few more charming pics of the gathering, which you can see below.

With the exception of Jonathan Frakes (who’s currently busy with Discovery), the gang’s all here. From left to right in the main picture are LeVar Burton (Geordi La Forge), Gates McFadden (Dr Beverly Crusher), Patrick Stewart (Jean-Luc Picard), Marina Sirtis (Deanna Troi), Brent Spiner (Data) and Michael Dorn (Worf). Man, imagine walking into a restaurant and seeing all those guys enjoying each other’s company.

It’s actually kind of uplifting to see that the TNG cast seem to genuinely enjoy meeting like this. Generally, the casts of long-running shows end up wanting absolutely nothing to do with their co-stars after years of working with them and end up drifting away. Perhaps it’s because this ensemble has stayed acquainted via conventions and fan events that they’ve remained buddies. Or perhaps it’s just because they’re all really nice people?

It makes you wonder though whether any of Picard’s former colleagues might appear in his upcoming TV return. After all, Michael Dorn’s looking pretty good and who could argue with throwing a little Worf into the mix after so long?

Tell us, are there any Star Trek: The Next Generation characters you’d like to see make a return in the future? As always, let us know in the comments section down below.
