It’s been hailed as a dark and moody reinvention of DC’s Teen Titans Go! animated series, but according to the folks at Fandom Wire (h/t CBM), Titans may also feature the great and powerful Trigon.
We’ve known for quite some time that Castle star Seamus Dever had joined the live-action reboot in an undisclosed role which, coupled with the rumors of a major twist occurring at the end of the first episode, has led many to speculate that a formidable DC Comics villain will be introduced.
And though it’s yet to be confirmed in an official capacity, Fandom Wire is alleging that Dever is attached to play Trigon, a demonic villain with untold power – energy projection, telepathy and reality manipulation are just some of his mind-bending abilities from the comics.
Truth be told, this is a character more associated with Deathstroke and even the Justice League, so it remains to be seen how Warner Bros. plans to incorporate Trigon into its fledgling DC Universe – surely Seamus Dever will be using a mixture of prosthetics and CGI for the role?
One thing we do know is that Titans, a series in which Brenton Thwaites (Dick Grayson/Robin) and Co. will be playing young vigilantes, is on course for a fall premiere, at which point the dark and brooding DC show will launch that aforementioned streaming platform from Warner Bros. which will, through time, open its gates to Swamp Thing, Doom Patrol and an adult-oriented series involving Harley Quinn.
For Titans, though, Thwaites will be sharing the screen with a host of up-and-coming talent, including Anna Diop as Starfire, Ryan Potter as Beast Boy, Teagan Croft as Raven and Alan Ritchson as Hawk. Fall 2018 is the current target.
