We begin by seeing Jones at work (beating people up, basically) before a conversation with Mike Colter’s Luke Cage reveals that she became a private eye after becoming disillusioned with the superhero business. From here we’re introduced (though we don’t really get a good look at him) to the sinister Killgrave, who uses his mind-control powers to get people to do some very bad things – and Jessica was one of those people.

What use is super-strength when you’re not in control of your own actions? Expect Kilgrave’s manipulation of  Jones’ and exploitation of her superpowers to factor into their shared backstory.

Jessica Jones premieres next month with the full 13 episodes, only on Netflix.
