As you can see, the spotlight is very much on Barry’s decision to isolate himself from his family and friends in order to keep them safe. Season one of the hit DC Comics adaptation wrapped up with the death of Eddie Thawne as he killed himself in a bid to save The Flash’s life. It worked, too, as Eobard Thawne (a.k.a. Reverse-Flash) was wiped out of the timeline as a result.

While the clip itself is fairly brief, keep watching, as there’s an interview with The Flash star Candice Patton in which she sheds some light on what fans should expect when the show returns for its second season.

Season two of The Flash picks up months after the Singularity attacked Central City, as Barry is still struggling to forgive himself for Eddie’s death. Concerned about putting his friends in danger, Barry has pushed everyone away and has chosen to protect the city on his own. When a meta-human named Atom Smasher attacks the city, Iris tells our protagonist that he needs to let his friends help him protect the citizens of Central City. Meanwhile, Cisco helps Joe with his Meta Task Force.

The Flash returns to The CW on October 6th with “The Man Who Saved Central City.”
