Doctor Who fans may not have any qualms about waiting until November for the 60th anniversary special — set to feature the legendary return of David Tennant — but that doesn’t mean they aren’t going to express their frustration when the BBC continues to play coy with the promotional campaign.

For weeks now, we’ve had to contend with short cryptic teasers that don’t tell us anything new about the three-part 60th anniversary special. Now the British broadcasting company has done it again by releasing a teaser of Neil Patrick Harris‘ enigmatic villain.

Fortunately, the team at Cardiff seems to be implying that a full trailer is heading our way during the Eurovision Song Contest, and since Catherine Tate (Donna Noble) herself is also in attendance to announce the scores, Doctor Who fans might be in for a real treat this time.

Meanwhile, a new fan theory is gaining a lot of steam on Twitter, and it basically speculates that Neil Patrick Harris is going to embody the Toymaker yet again as a stand-in for the metaphorical “toxic fandom.”

NPH’s character has been watching the Doctor’s life, and he’s deciding to bring back the supposed “best incarnation” of the Last of the Time Lords so that the story can enter another golden age. That sounds a lot like what people expected Russell T. Davies to do, eh? Just take over the show again and right every wrong. And let’s admit it, it would be just like Davies to take a jab at the show’s peculiar reception over the past couple of years before beginning his next tenure as showrunner.

At any rate, make sure to stay tuned for more updates as we go through this year’s Eurovision festival.
