Is it too much of a stretch to say that The Mandalorian, Jon Favreau’s live-action TV series set in that famous galaxy far, far away, is the most-anticipated Star Wars project currently in development? Perhaps. But that won’t stop us from rummaging around the Internet in search of potential story clues relating to Lucasfilm’s big TV project.

The latest comes to us by way of Making Star Wars. Citing sources familiar with the production, MSW alleges that The Mandalorian will wind up incorporating IG-88 and possibly Bossk into its super-secret story. The latter has become something of a cult favorite among Star Wars aficionados since his all-too-brief appearance in Empire Strikes Back, but if MSW is to be believed, then it won’t be long before Bossk is getting the screentime we so crave.

IG-88, on the other hand, is said to be an old-school bounty hunter, and has been pictured on set riding speeder bikes and generally kicking up a fuss with his heavy blasters. Chances are he’ll feature quite prominently in The Mandalorian, then, though it’s worth keeping in mind that this is merely a rumor for now, and should therefore be treated as so.

On a more general note, online intel suggests that The Mandalorian may feature some sort of lava planet, while a number of Stormtroopers (and Deathtroopers!) have been spotted on set since filming began a few short weeks ago. In that time, Jon Favreau has even played host to a number of MCU directors, who swung by The Mandalorian to see what all the fuss is about. And with reports that Favreau’s rustling up something truly special, we simply can’t wait to learn more about what’s in store.
