Crisis On Infinite Earths Will Feature Two Different Batmen

The great thing about "Crisis on Infinite Earths" is that the concept of the multiverse folding in on itself doesn't just mean that various heroes can come together, but also that various versions of the same hero can team up. For instance, we've absolutely got two Supermen on the way, with both Tyler Hoechlin and Brandon Routh suiting up as the Men of Steel in the crossover. And there's plenty more doppelganger action where that comes from, too.

Over the weekend, it was reveled that Kevin Conroy was making his live-action debut as Bruce Wayne and now, our source has clarified that much like how Routh will play an older Supes based on the Kingdom Come version, Conroy will be playing the Kingdom Come Batman. And while The CW has yet to confirm this, this is the same source who told us that Swamp Thing movie was in development and that the leads of Ghostbusters 3 would be young teens, both of which were later confirmed.

What’s perhaps most interesting about this though is that it means that we likely won’t see Conroy’s mature Caped Crusader suit up. However, according to our source, a different Batman from another Earth will indeed don the Batsuit.

From what we understand, this second Batman will appear in costume, but we don’t currently know who will play the other Dark Knight. It could be another bit of DC legacy casting for the crossover, or they may go with a lesser-known performer and the real draw here will just be that Batman in the cape and cowl is finally showing up in the Arrowverse.

In any case, we’ve certainly been waiting for the Bat to appear on The CW for the longest time now, as Smallville never got the clearance to feature him for 10 years and the Arrowverse only recently got the rights to explore Gotham City in last year’s “Elseworlds.” With Batwoman soon to be a full-time fixture of the franchise, though, it seems DC has relaxed its rules and allowed two separate versions of the hero to turn up in “Crisis On Infinite Earths,” which is truly shaping up to be the crossover to end all crossovers.
