The Defenders is set to premiere on Netflix this summer, but in the meantime, shooting continues in various parts of New York City and the set photos keep on rolling in. In this new batch, we get a look at a very unexpected pairing as Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) and Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) head out for a snowy stroll.

For starters, this may confirm a winter setting for The Defenders (which makes sense given that’s when it’s been shooting), but that sadly doesn’t make it any easier to figure out where in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s complex timeline the show takes place. More intriguing though is the pairing of these two heroes, but given that they both have experience with investigations, it could be that they’re working on figuring out what exactly Sigourney Weaver’s mysterious villain is up to. Them being together also means that Luke Cage and Danny Rand are probably hanging around somewhere, which is definitely good news for Heroes for Hire fans.

Aside from that, there’s not much else that can be learned from the photos, which are copyrighted and can only be seen on Getty Images. Still, it’s always exciting to get a glimpse of the upcoming series as it’s sure to be another top notch production from Marvel, one that we cannot wait to check out.

Iron Fist is up next for the studio on Netflix, so the marketing campaign for The Defenders will likely kick off once that hits the online streaming service. For now, check out the new set photos over at Getty Images and for more, take a look through the gallery below and get acquainted with the gang.
