David Tennant And Billie Piper Return To Doctor Who In New Trailer For Audio Drama

Have you heard? David Tennant and Billie Piper are returning to their iconic Doctor Who roles as the Tenth Doctor and his beloved Rose Tyler! Oh, we should probably clarify that we're talking about a new boxset of audio dramas, rather than a comeback on the small screen. But hey, that's still cool, right? Have you heard? David Tennant and Billie Piper are returning to their iconic Doctor Who roles as the Tenth Doctor and his beloved Rose Tyler! Oh, we should probably clarify that we’re talking about a new boxset of audio dramas, rather than a comeback on the small screen. But hey, that’s still cool, right? You bet your sweet sonic screwdriver it is.

The Tenth Doctor Adventures Vol. 2 is the second release to see Tennant reprise the role that he bowed out of on TV back on New Year’s Day 2010, when he regenerated into Matt Smith. In the first boxset, he was joined by Catherine Tate, who starred opposite him as Donna Noble in the 2008 series. That was a real treat, but a reunion for the Doctor and Rose is what a lot of fans were really hoping for, as few Doctor-companion pairings before or since have managed to match the dynamic duo’s chemistry.

Big Finish Productions have been making new adventures for old Doctors for about two decades now, with their roster including every Time Lord from Tom Baker’s Four to Paul McGann’s Eight, as well as Tennant and even the late, great Sir John Hurt back in 2015. Fans are desperately hoping for Matt Smith and Peter Capaldi to join the fray at some point, too, and though the former seems on board with the idea, his busy schedule permitting, the outgoing Twelfth Doctor has sadly suggested he wants to say goodbye to the show for good once the Christmas special is over and done with.

The Tenth Doctor Adventures Vol. 2 is available to purchase from the Big Finish website now, while we also don’t have long to go until Doctor Who returns to TV, with “Twice Upon a Time” landing on Christmas Day.
