DC Entertainment Head Honcho Geoff Johns Teases New TV Show Coming Soon

DC's currently experiencing some trouble with their big screen efforts, what with Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad both failing to impress. This year, though, they're hoping to change that and may very well do so thanks to the arrival of both Wonder Woman and Justice League. It's still too early to tell whether or not those films will enable the studio to turn their DCEU around, but even if they don't, we always have DC's television properties to keep us going.

This year, though, they’re hoping to change that and may very well do so thanks to the arrival of both Wonder Woman and Justice League. Over on the small screen, they’re doing some truly tremendous work. Between The Flash, Arrow, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow and more, their television universe is going strong and doesn’t look to be slowing down anytime soon. Especially not with a brand new show coming in 2017.

That’s according to DC head honcho Geoff Johns, who took to Twitter today to reveal some of the things he’s looking forward to this year. Among them, he mentioned not only the studio’s current roster but also teased a new series that’s going to be announced soon.

With Johns choosing to not reveal anything more, we’re left with a whole bunch of questions. Primarily, which network will it air on? We presume The CW, but it could end up elsewhere. We also don’t know if it will feature brand new characters or just be a spinoff of an existing show. Fans are speculating it could be Green Lantern who takes the spotlight, given that he’s already been referenced a few times in the Arrowverse, but at this stage, it’s anyone’s guess.

Regardless of who this upcoming show revolves around and where it airs, it’s undoubtedly good news. DC’s TV universe is constantly growing in new and exciting ways and with the company making all the right moves on the small screen, we’re confident that their next series will be another winner.
