Disney distracts from off-screen Marvel drama by finally revealing ‘Secret Invasion’ release date

'Secret Invasion' will be released sooner than we think.

Despite the recent chaos that’s currently occurring over at Marvel Studios, it seems one Marvel project won’t be pushed to 2024. Disney has finally answered fans’ prayers and announced the official release date for Marvel Studio’s Secret Invasion.

The date was announced on the show’s official Disney Plus page, preparing viewers for this upcoming Marvel series featuring Samuel L. Jackson reprising his role as Nick Fury. Fans expressed excitement, not just because of Jackson’s return, but also for the plot since it’s about a group of evil shapeshifters trying to invade Earth.

In an interview with ComicBook.com, Marvel Studios executive producer Kevin Feige said that the show wouldn’t be similar to the comics and that the show will explore the “political paranoia” that was showcased in the original story. It would appear that these themes are prevalent based on what’s seen in the first trailer for the series, where Fury was warned about who he trusts.

Not much information about the series was revealed ever since the trailer release during the D23 convention. There was speculation that members from the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series would return in the series, but so far, nothing has been confirmed.

Fortunately, it seems like Secret Invasion isn’t the Disney Plus show that was affected by the recent exit of former executive, Victoria Alonso from Marvel Studios. It was reported that due to her departure, a handful of upcoming Marvel content had their release dates pushed.

Secret Invasion is scheduled to come out on June 21, 2023, on Disney Plus.
