Fans of The Flash will be happy to hear that yet another member of The Rogues has joined the upcoming series, as THR reports that Prison Break alum Dominic Purcell has been cast as the supervillain known as Heat Wave. This casting also leads to a bit of a Prison Break reunion, as Purcell joins his former co-star (and fictional brother) Wentworth Miller, who previously joined the series as iconic Flash nemesis Captain Cold.

Heat Wave, the alter-ego of fire-obsessed serial arsonist Mick Rory, will make his small screen debut in the tenth episode of the season. There he’ll team up with Captain Cold and presumably attempt to wreak a bit of havoc on Central City.

Which version of Mick Rory is to be adapted remains to be seen, though it’s likely that the writers and showrunners will choose the New 52 iteration, where Rory was re-imagined as having the ability to create fire through metahuman powers of his own. We know that the series will focus on the fallout of the S.T.A.R. Labs particle accelerator explosion that not only gave Barry Allen his powers, but turned many of his fellow citizens into metahumans as well, so Mick Rory gaining a fire-starting ability and then honing those abilities with the help of Captain Cold makes sense, and is pretty exciting to think about.

Heat Wave and Captain Cold join fellow Rogues Weather Wizard (Chad Rook), Girder (Greg Finley) and Plastique (Kelly Frye). With those appearances only stretching to the tenth episode of the season, there’s still plenty of room for more to join the mix. We’ve heard that Gorilla Grodd and Reverse-Flash will make appearances along with Arrow villain The Clock King, so could other iconic Flash villains like Captain Boomerang, Mirror Master, and Pied Piper be far behind? We’ll just have to wait and see.
