Ready for a season 3 spoiler, Downton Abbey fans? Executive producer Rebecca Eaton recently let slip that not only will there be a character birth in season 3, but also there will be a character death. A major one.
Specifically, Eaton said:
Somebody will be born, and somebody will die, somebody pretty key in the cast, unfortunately (is) not going to make it. It’s the 1920s now.
Alright, the death clue is pretty enigmatic. There’s really no way to tell who could be killed off. After all, as Eaton pointed out: it’s the 1920s now. I think it’s most likely that the mentioned birth comes from the loins of Lady Sybil (Jessica Brown Findlay) and Branson (Allen Leech), but hey, it could be someone else. How about Lady Mary (Michelle Dockery) and Matthew Crawley (Dan Stevens)?
Or, aha – Thomas (Rob James-Collier) and Miss O’Brien (Siobhan Finneran) could have some baby as part of an elaborate plot? Just kidding. That would never happen. O’Brien is just too cold.
In a dream world, I’d love to see the offspring of Mr. Bates (Brendan Coyle) and Anna (Joanne Froggatt), and I think most of us would support the death of Thomas. Who do you hope will have a baby – or get killed off? Let us know in the comments.
