After taking a staggering 24 Emmy nominations with fire and blood – including her own nod for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama – Emilia Clarke has touched base on the future of HBO’s acclaimed fantasy series and the anticipated Game of Thrones season 6.

Despite a handful of truly memorable moments, including the battle for Hardhome, the show’s fifth season proved to be a little iffy, coasting on a prolonged build-up before cramming in enough betrayals, dragons and white walkers to fill an entire season. Looking ahead to next year’s batch of episodes, though, Clarke revealed that fans can expect a relentless barrage of epic moments, and hinted that there’s a lot in store for her own Mother of Dragons.

Speaking to the LA Times off the back of the impressive nomination haul, here’s what the award-winning actress had to share.

There’s so much in store for (Dany). I’m saying that obviously because I’ve read the script for next season. Muwah ha ha! I know stories. It’s really exciting. This season coming up, that we’re about to film, there’s none of that. It’s just go, go, go, go. Shocking moment to shocking moment. Epic moment to epic moment. It’s mental; it’s epic. And definitely Dany’s a part of it.

This isn’t the first time that Clarke has drummed up excitement for the show’s next outing, after hinting that a certain someone has a 50/50 chance of returning following his abrupt death during the season 5 finale. With the advancing white walkers, trouble in the North and a wayward Dany and her loyal, scaly companion Drogon, Game of Thrones has ample story strand to explore when it returns, and we’re excited to see how it pans out.

If Clarke is to be believed, Game of Thrones will make a triumphant return when season 6 debuts on HBO sometime in spring 2016.
