Arguably one of the best comedy sitcoms of all time, The Office has held its place near the top of everyone’s best-of lists despite being nearly two decades old. In its wide assortment of episodes comprised of almost 10 seasons, The Office has subsequently introduced the story originally created by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant to a North American audience, with an entirely different arsenal of actors from its original installment.
Hilarious, awkward, and even offensive to a fault, The Office narrowed down the barriers between comedy and social politics, bringing a miscellaneous amount of banter and gags that thread the line of what would be socially acceptable in our current times. Nonetheless, and in spite of being somewhat dated, The Office still manages to shine a light on some of the most beloved actors of the generation — even if they were only present in guest roles. In a surprising turn of events, the American Horror Story and X-Men actor Evan Peters actually received one of his first roles on the grounds of the NBC sitcom, but who did he play?
What role did Evan Peters play in The Office?
The seventh season of The Office reunites the gang at Dunder Mifflin, with a new addition to its ranks: Luke Cooper. Initially introduced as the new office assistant, whose job includes fetching coffees and doing most of what is needed around the workplace, it is later on discovered that he’s actually Michael’s nephew. Luke was hired in hopes that finding him a job would help Michael’s strained relationship with his half-sister, but in reality, it winded up going in the opposite direction.
From deliberately messing up food and coffee orders to goofing off and ridiculing the workers, Luke is quickly despised by the entirety of the office staff. Despite being reprimanded numerous times, Cooper simply antagonizes everyone in the office. It isn’t until Luke’s actions start proving to be unprofitable and downright disrespectful that Michael decides to teach him a lesson in front of the entire floor and spank his nephew on the bottom, promptly causing the teenager to flee upon being publicly humiliated.
From then on out, Luke no longer appears in the episode, thus ending Evan Peters’ participation in The Office. Despite this being his only time on the series, this was not the first time Peters and Carrell worked alongside one another. In 2004, the duo starred in Sleepover, and again in 2010, launching the rising star’s career via a healthy spanking on prime television.
Peters’ most recent work, Dahmer — Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story is available to stream on Netflix.
