While there’s no shortage of political shows on television at the current moment, few capture life in Washington from such a relatable angle as Madam Secretary.
The CBS series follows university professor Elizabeth McCord (Téa Leoni), who is chosen as a successor when the Secretary of the State is killed in a mysterious accident. Over the course of the first season, we watch as she adapts to working in the White House while juggling family life with the support of her husband Henry (Tim Daly).
During a Paley Center event for the show, we had the chance to ask Leoni and Daly about their complex roles and how their characters have managed to stay true to themselves despite being thrust into the political sphere. Check out what they had to say in the video above and then head on down to the comments section to share your thoughts on the first season of Madam Secretary, which just concluded this past Sunday.
