While a lot of attention is being placed squarely on Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker – thanks in part to a spread featured in Vanity Fair – recent developments have shed some light on the future of the series on the small screen. Traditionally, its TV presence has been relegated mostly to The Clone Wars, the animated “interquel” series that will make a return on the Disney Plus streaming service, but now, it looks like fans have a lot more to look forward to.

It seems the House of Mouse is working on a brand new show that focuses on none other than Boba Fett, the bounty hunter who first made an appearance in Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. While he was retroactively added to A New Hope – and let’s not forget his younger version from Attack of the Clones – Boba was last seen in Return of the Jedi, when he fell victim to the Sarlacc pit, which Jabba the Hutt used to ceremoniously execute his prisoners.

Speaking exclusively to We Got This Covered, an industry insider revealed that Disney will be adapting Boba Fett for the small screen. Specifically, for their Disney Plus streaming service. No casting or plot details were disclosed, but with The Mandalorian reportedly costing the company $100 million to produce, we wouldn’t be surprised if the House of Mouse chose to spend an equal amount of money on Boba and co. to put together something on the same scale as Jon Favreau’s aforementioned show.

Personally, we’re interested to see what Disney has in store for the fans, but we want to know your thoughts. Should the company focus its efforts on more movies, or would you rather see a handful of small scale shows to serve as companion pieces? Be sure to let us know in the comments section down below.
