That’s because American Horror Story season 8 is titled “Apocalypse,” and brings together the worlds of “Coven” and “Murder House” in spectacular fashion. It’s the crossover that Ryan Murphy and the Powers That Be over at FX have been threatening for years, and now, it’s little over a week away.

So in anticipation of September 12th, today heralds the first full trailer for American Horror Story: Apocalypse, and it’s every bit as creepy and disturbing as we’ve come to expect from the FX flagship. You could even say it’s bewitching

American Horror Story has always danced to its own tune when it comes to marketing and promotion, and today’s first-look trailer is no different. For one, it arrives just as viewers begin to clear their schedules in anticipation of September 12th, while the grotesque themes and haunting imagery are enough to leave you cowering behind the sofa.

Casting-wise, Ryan Murphy has filled out this season with *deep breath* Sarah Paulson, Emma Roberts, Evan Peters, Billie Lourd, Adina Porter, Kathy Bates, Leslie Grossman, Billy Eichner, Cheyenne Jackson, Cody Fern, Connie Britton, Dylan McDermott, Taissa Farmiga, Lily Rabe, Jessica Lange, Frances Conroy, Gabourey Sidibe and Stevie Nicks.

What happens when you cross “Coven” with the characters and themes of “Murder House?” A full-blown TV apocalypse, that’s what. And we need only wait until September 12th until the eighth season of FX’s American Horror Story is upon us.
