Ahead of its long-anticipated premiere in September, FX has today rolled out the first wave of trippy teasers for American Horror Story season 6 which are, unsurprisingly, dripping with nightmare fuel.

In keeping with the show’s anthology format, season 6 is set to unleash a new breed of horror on the impassioned AHS fanbase, and while previous runs have revolved around themes of circuses and spine-chilling asylums, American Horror Story looks set to take a turn into the Satanic.

Indeed, the number 6 – ever a fixture of all things evil – is littered throughout the marketing campaign for American Horror Story season 6, and whether it’s skin-crawling millipedes or possessed farmers, it’s pretty clear FX is cooking up something demonic in time for September.

On board for that new season are Evan Peters, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Finn Wittrock, Matt Bomer, Denis O’Hare, Cheyenne Jackson and Leslie Jordan, though the network is yet to release official details of who’s playing who. Until that time, you can have a fleeting peek at those eerie teasers below, and let us know your speculative analysis using the comments section.

Look for American Horror Story to return via FX on September 14.
