Jesse Quick and Barry Allen in The Flash

The Flash Synopsis Confirms Jesse Quick And Jay Garrick’s Return

In recent weeks, Central City could've really used another speedster. While Barry Allen did a brief stretch in the clink, Elongated Man had to step up as that metropolis' protector, but things just weren't the same. And while Kid Flash hopping over to Legends of Tomorrow certainly is a cool prospect, he couldn't have picked a worse time to leave his friends and family high and dry.

Fortunately, some old pals will be returning to The Flash in a matter of weeks in order to help the Scarlet Speedster deal with the threat of a nuclear bomb. That’s right, Jesse Quick and Jay Garrick will be back to assist when one of the worst nightmare scenarios possible becomes an unfortunate reality.

On March 6, expect that trio of speedsters to perhaps put The Matrix or Max Payne to shame by entering “Flashtime,” which we’re assuming will make bullet time pale in comparison. Well, maybe in a theoretical sense because we’re dealing with a TV budget here.

Without further delay, here’s the synopsis for the aptly titled “Enter Flashtime”:

JESSE QUICK AND JAY GARRICK TEAM UP WITH THE FLASH — When a nuclear bomb detonates in downtown Central City, Barry (Grant Gustin), Jesse Quick (guest star Violett Beane) and Jay Garrick (guest star John Wesley Shipp) slow down time by entering Flashtime. As everyone in the city is frozen, the three speedsters push themselves to the breaking point to save the city and everyone in it. Gregory Smith directed the episode written by Todd Helbing & Sterling Gates (#415). Original airdate 3/6/2018.

Let it be known that no villain was named, so it’s very possible that this event is part of DeVoe’s grand plan. We can’t be too sure right now, but you have to admit that the body-hopping Thinker has been getting more brazen and unpredictable in recent weeks. Either way, let’s hope that no permanent effects are left on Central City.

The Flash returns with new episodes on Tuesday, February 27 on The CW.
