Last night, we were treated to the opening two chapters of “Crisis on Earth-X” and, quite frankly, I was blown away. Not only did the latest Arrowverse crossover feature a new level of comic book-like craziness and fight choreography that was off the charts, but the writers hit all the right beats with the many characters involved, giving this mashup much heart. Seriously, they should be applauded for managing to make this thing coherent. But I guess one advantage that comes with producing something like this for television means much less studio interference than you’d get on the motion picture side of things.
Anyway, aside from learning the true identities of Earth-X’s Blitzen and Prometheus – in addition to the introduction of what looks to be a significant character – we learned the reason why Dark Arrow and company crashed Barry and Iris’ wedding. Basically, Oliver Queen’s Nazi doppelganger wants to pluck Supergirl’s heart from her chest and insert it into his wife, Overgirl, in an attempt to save her life.
So, as we continue to see goodies such as behind-the-scenes photos creep online, another has arrived in the form of an advance clip taken from The Flash. In it, we see the Kara Zor-El we know and love bound under some red solar energy and being prepped for surgery. Additionally, Tom Cavanagh shows us what it is to be one of the Arrowverse’s best villains as he reprises the role of Eobard Thawne.
