With that introduction, you can probably guess that more than a few Law & Order parallels are being drawn here. As you know, The Flash‘s midseason finale left us on one of the most shocking cliffhangers in recent memory. In short, the Thinker framed Barry Allen for murder by placing his recently discarded body in the Scarlet Speedster’s apartment, complete with knife wound – but not before transferring his consciousness into the newly introduced Brainstorm. That rascal!

Now, with Barry obviously in police custody, he’ll soon find himself on trial. As such, he’ll have to grapple with the decision to reveal that he’s the Flash in a court of law. Our guess is that he’ll find a way to dance around it, but you never really know which curveballs the producers are about to throw – especially in the Arrowverse.

Speaking of which, not only were we treated to an extended promo for the midseason premiere this week, but now the network is also spoiling us with a bounty of images (seen above) since the show’s return is right around the corner. Not surprisingly, all the focus is being placed on courtroom proceedings.
