On the heels of a series of utterly creepy teaser trailers, FX is continuing their eerie promotional campaign with the release of four rather haunting posters for the second season of their acclaimed show, this time titled American Horror Story: Asylum.

Each of these teaser posters continues in the terrifying vein of the aforementioned trailers, evoking the imagery in the mysterious clips known as “Blue Coat,” “Special Delivery,” “Hydrobath,” and “Ascend” respectively.

The art design of American Horror Story: Asylum is certainly looking to be one of this season’s greatest strengths and though the murder house from the first was extremely potent as well, a haunted mental institution significantly raises the stakes, especially if these posters are faithful to the stylistic choices we’ll be seeing in the show’s return.

Jessica Lange, Zachary Quinto and Sarah Paulson will return for season two (however, in different roles) and will be joined by newcomers Adam Levine (of Maroon 5 fame) James Cromwell and Joseph Fiennes. Check out the four posters below and let us know which one is your favourite.

American Horror Story: Asylum returns to FX on October 17.
